Thanks for all the great new features of 0.14n, especially the Hebrew support! However, it has bugs:
1. Crash if hypen is selected and trying to set Hebrew encoding. 2. Auto encoding won't stick - always reverts to Hebrew. 3. Sometimes when pressing screen to select text, it selects the wrong text or none at all (hard to replicate - it happend to me on the last line of the screen with Hebrew alignment). 4. If Hebrew encoding is selected, English text shows ok, but pressing on it sends the word "backwards" (I use SlovoEd). Thanks again for all the efforts in that direction! :)

I have no problem to read English with the Hebrew fonts - that is ok.
What is not ok, is that auto-selecting "Hebrew-win" also makes the text alignment to be right-to-left even if my text is in English - it overrides my "justified" setting. Auto-selecting of "right-to-left" (or "right alignment") will be great only if it happens for actual Hebrew text. If you need more explanation, tell me :) Thanks!

If PF found in text hebrew letters, this text - "hebrew" (right aligment). If text contain only ANSI letters - this text "WestEurope" (left aligment). What's wrong?
If you need compex analisis of text to detect hebrew, I do it. But prepare to wait 5-10 min. with opening of each file. First you request automatic detection hebrew and set aligment. Now you dissatisfied. Be careful in its desires.

Pure English text was detected as "Hebrew" and was right-aligned.
Maybe it's because of my PiLoc? Because I couldn't replicate this behaviour under a simulator with no Hebrew support... Anyway, listen - if it's causing that much of a problem, then I'm sorry - forget it - drop the "auto detect" & revert back to manual detection. I didn't think it would be so complicated - I tried to understand now what is wrong, but when I manually turn off the auto detection in "General" settings, the text still doesn't show ok! v0.14m was showing it ok...manual, but ok :) Pardon me if I upset you - it's your open-source project, I never ment you to work too hard for my benefit - I thought it'd be much simple - forgive me.

One more bug with the fonts:
If I try to change font through the "Tune profile" screen, the list-box becomes empty, and it sometimes crashes when quitting the dialog. Even under simulator - it immediately crashes once using this listbox. There is no problem, however, when changing font through the special "Explore fonts" screen - works ok there.

Ok, I think there were too many reports of mine about the fonts bug, so here is the final situation:
1. Using Sony CLIE TH55 with PiLoc v3.6 Hebrew active. 2. Went into PF v0.14n Global settings, page 4. 3. UNchecked "Auto" and manually chose "Western European". 4. Opened a PURE English document - shown RIGHT-to-left :( 5. Went into "Tune profile", tab "Text". 6. Chose "Western European" encoding, and saved profile. 7. Document shown ok: left-to-right :) 8. Close PF or go back to document list, 9. Open PF (or document) again - shows bad :( And if I enter the "Tune profile" again, I see it was set to Hebrew! If you could only fix that, I'll be able to use 0.14n Right now I'm stuck with 0.14m Thanks! P.S. It must be something with PiLoc, because it doesn't happen on the simulator (or other users of course), but even so, when I did step 6 above (meaning I didn't choose "Auto"), I think that PF should not change my encoding, right?

Hello...were you able to reproduce this bug using the steps above?
(After installing PiLoc Hebrew of course...) Alternatively, can you tell me what was the latest version that didn't break the "hold" of the hard buttons? Thank you. |
