I have a Tapwave Zodsiac 2, which is a PalmOS device running OS 5.27, with a 200mhz processor, 320x480 screen with collapring DIA, 128MB or RAM, and two SD card slots. I have a 2GB SD card in each, but plan to switch to 4GB cards fairly soon.

Is anyone successfully running PF versions later than 0.12g on a Zodiac? If so, how?

0.12g runs fine, sees both SD cards, and can read documents in any directory on either.

0.13x won't run. Tapping the icon makes the screen blink for a moement, the returns me to the launcher.

0.14x won't run either. Tapping the icon causes a white screen, as though PF is trying to run, but eventually I get a crash and reset.

Another Zodiac user on another forum reported a crash if he had a 4GB card inserted, but success with a 2GB card, and crashes if he had two cards inserted in the Zodiac, but success if only one slt was filled.

Also, is there a change log in English anywhere that states what was added/changed in releases after 0.12?

PalmFiction does crash the Zodiac 2 when 2 SD cards are inserted at the same time, no matter what size they are. No problem with one single SD card, whatever the size.

It would be great if the problem could be solved.

Which version are you running? I don't see the problem with 0.12g on my production Zodiac 2. I didn't see the problem when I managed to get 0.13 running on my test Zodiac 2. I can't get any 0.14 version to run at all.

If you are successfully running a version after 0.12 on a Zodiac, how did you do it?

Hi Dennis,

I can't remember which all versions I've tried, but my download directory says I have 13a 14c and 14e2. All work except when I have 2 SD cards in. I haven't use to any extent since if I forget and leave in 2 cards it crashes with loud buzzing, white screen and I have to manually reset.

To double check I have just copied the entire contents of 14e2 version to launcher folder of my card and ran it from the card on my Z1. Loaded the readme and the history text files and it was fine. That is of course with only 1 sd card (in this case the one containing the program).

One thing I forgot to mention. You have to delete from internal or when you try and run it will run the 12g version instead, or at least thats what about will say.

PS thanks again, for the 12g tip since it will hold me over until the newer versions are looked into.

Yes, I just reproduced your experience. 014e2 runs fine from a card as long as only one card is inserted. If a second card is present. I crash and burn. (I tried running 0.14e2 with one card inserted, and inserting the second card while it was active. No luck: it froze and had to be reset.)

I'll stick at 0.12g till the author produces a fix, but at least I now know what the problem is. Weird. I confess, I wouldn't have thought of having two cards present as the problem.
