1. When opening, says "List index out of bounds (0)" (I don't have palm users on this PC if that matters).

2. The charset encoding list box is empty (worked ok in 2.03).

3. When saving font, file has a weird name with only the first couple of letters of the font name, and then some "garbage".

Download PFFC again. Check charset list. Version not changed, but if you press help button, you see "about" and icon (in previous version only text)

2 & 3 are ok now, thanks!

1 ("List index out of bounds...") still shows when starting, however - there doesn't seem to be a problem because of it.

If you want to fix it too, maybe this information will help:
a. I extracted the EXE only (without localization files)
b. I'm using Windows XP SP2
c. Palm Desktop is not installed for current user here, so the list box is empty (which is ok).
d. Charset works ok now, but at startup, list is empty - I have to manually choose a charset from the list.
e. Default height & width of the font is "0" at startup.

The above are NOT problems! Just information to (maybe) help you fix the "list index..." message.

Thank you!

Windows is Hebrew or English?

English interface with support for Hebrew.

(just to make it clear again - besides the "list index..." message, PFC works very good now - fonts are ok :)

I don't know if you made a silent update again, but now, on a different machine, it works fine! :)

I'm now under Windows 2000 SP4 (English menus, Hebrew font support...) and there is no error message at startup.

If it matters, I also have Palm Desktop installed on this machine, and my user is showing as default on the PFC list.

I also get "Default charset" automatically at startup, and I don't even need to change it to Hebrew - it already includes the Hebrew letters if I just press convert :)

Also, the Height/Width are not 0 by default on this machine like it was on the XP...

If there was no silent-update, I hope the above information helps your debugging.

This time I found the problem for sure! :-)

On the same XP that gave the error, I entered my brother's user-account: he has Palm Desktop installed.

PFC loaded with no error, and it showed his palm-user on the list and all the other defaults (font height/width) were not zero.

So - it's the palm users! PFC should behave more "gracefully" on startup if no palm-users are found for the current Windows user ;)

Hope I helped,
- Yuval.

Well, the truth is, as you may have understand, that Palm Desktop IS installed on this XP machine, just not for the current user (my user). When I go into my brother's user (Palm Desktop is configured on HIS registry hive only) - then, PFC runs ok.
